Initial Consultation

The initial consultation starts at the client’s home and consists of a comprehensive walkthrough of the property. During this time, it is our goal to listen to our clients and how they envision using their space. Whether our client needs an area for the kids to play, room for pets to run, a large patio for entertaining guests, or have privacy concerns from neighbors’ property; our FNGLA Certified Horticulturist will offer suggestions that are unique and creative. During the consultation, we will discuss your aesthetic preferences to create the ideal design to bring your vision to life. From creating a tropical paradise, Mediterranean retreat, or a drought tolerant water-wise landscape, our team will devise a masterpiece that fits into each specific lifestyle and budget.

Once the initial consultation has been conducted, our designers will discuss expected budgets for the project and the design fees associated with creating the plan. It is of key importance that the customer has established a budget in which they are willing to invest in their home. Upon acceptance of the design agreement, our designers will conduct a thorough site analysis and take all necessary measurements and photos of the property to produce a scaled drawing. We will look at potential drainage issues, measure changes in elevation, take stock of any existing plant life, features, and architectural elements of the home, so that we can start the design process.

Creating The Design

Breathing Life into Landscapes.

Once the site analysis and initial walkthrough have been completed, we will combine all the information we’ve gathered, and our design team will collaborate on how best to achieve the vision. Our design professionals will create a plant and material palette that is appropriate for the home. With our hot, humid climate, having extensive knowledge of North Florida vegetation is imperative. Our goal is to make the yard look beautiful year-round and be filled with interesting color, textures, and fragrance. We strive to create designs that are both functional, and beautiful, by integrating the artistic principles of line, space, texture, balance, and proportion to create a masterpiece landscape. Once the design has been completed, we will schedule a meeting to present the plan, view material selections and plant species. We will continually work revising the plan until we have created the perfect landscape. Once the design has been finalized, we will provide a line itemized, unit-priced cost estimate for the project. As needed, we will discuss ways to value engineer the project to keep it within the budget. Upon acceptance of our proposal, we will start creating workflows and getting the project approved through your local homeowners’ association. Please note this process can take anywhere from 30-45 days depending on your homeowner’s association.
